Philly Fashion Week is in full swing! Celebrating 10 seasons of “Fashion Redefined,” I attended the Fashion and Style Event/LUX Accessories Pop up held at Tommi Studio Salon & Spa. This mid week gathering bought out Philly’s fashionistas, featuring hair demonstrations, jewelry vendors, professional photography, live music and refreshments. Even though Philadelphia is a smaller city, there are definitely people leaving their own fashion footprint.
I caught up with Philly native Stephanie Nesmith, who wore a funky fierce outfit which consisted of high waist cut off shorts, a simple neutral tank, an adorned gold beaded necklace, camouflaged tennis shoes, and metallic gold clutch. Stephanie says that she has no particular style, but rather builds her outfits from one central piece and goes from there. Tonight her choice was the necklace.
Other events for Philly Fashion Week include a white tie gala and awards ceremony held on Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Ready to Wear Runway Show on September 20th and Haute Couture Runway Show on the 21st. Both shows feature national and international designers. For information on these events and more visit phillyfashionweek.org.
