When I was first approached by Kamedis Dermatology about their Proven Botanicals line, I was at an all time low hair and skin wise. I have extremely sensitive skin and I have always struggled with dandruff. I decided to give them a try because I was tired of dealing with over-commercialized products with chemicals that did nothing but irritate my skin and take my money.

I have been using their products for about 8 weeks now. Not as consistent as I should have, but enough to give an honest review about my favorite product from the line. The Dandruff Therapy Shampoo.

As mentioned above, I have struggled with dandruff for as long as I can remember. I have tried endless products, both medicated and over the counter. While some of them seem to alleviate the issue, I have yet to find anything that will completely make it go away.

Purpose:

The Dandruff Therapy Shampoo is sold to help eliminate flaking, scaling, itching, irritation and redness, associated with dandruff.

Description:

The Dandruff Therapy Shampoo has a pleasant smell, but very subtle and not overwhelming at all. Unlike other organic shampoos, it makes lots of foam/lather with not much of the product. The texture and color is creamy and it feels refreshing on your scalp. My hair stylist has given it many compliments during the time that I’ve been using it.

Results:

The way that my hair texture and curl patterns are set up, I cannot and will not, wash my hair every day. If I’m wearing my hair in curls, I wash it twice a week. If l’m wearing it straight I wash it once week, because I can’t straighten my own hair and I don’t have the time and money for a hair salon twice a week.

With that being said, I did see some positive results, but I think that I would have seen more if I had washed my hair more often. Before I stated using the product, I would wash my hair and 2 days later, I would start seeing the dandruff building up again. With the Dandruff Therapy Shampoo I usually don’t see the flaking till day 4. Which is typically 3 days before I run back to the hair salon or about the same time that I am washing it, if I’m wearing it curly. If you’re more consistent with your hair washing routine, this would be a great product for you. Unfortunately, it hasn’t made my dandruff problem go away completely, but it has helped to control it. I will certainly continue to use it and see how it works in the long run.
